Residents of Pretoria Gardens regroup
Updated | By MornéJK
Residents of Pretoria Gardens have started to regroup on Wednesday morning after three days of violence in the Tshwane area.
Ministers, political parties as well as law enforcement agencies condemned the violence on Tuesday calling calm to return.
On Wednesday morning residents of the Pretoria Gardens area started making their way to work while learners in uniform headed to school following lockdown of the area yesterday.
Residents maintain that they wanted Kgosientso 'Sputla' Ramokgopa to remain mayor of Tshwane.
Violence broke out in various parts of the Tshwane area earlier this week after the ANC announced Thoko Didiza as their preferred mayoral candidate for the upcoming elections.
Taxis and cars were weaving through rocks and burnt tyres on the roads in Atteridgeville earlier and for the moment, the situation seems to have calmed down.
