Updated | By Karabo Tebele
Two robbers fled into the popular Woodlands Shopping Mall in Pretoria East on Thursday, temporarily bringing operations to a halt.
The two armed suspects fled into the mall following a failed robbery.
"Woodlands confirms that armed robbers from a failed armed robbery that took place outside of the centre fled into the ABSA Bank within the centre,” it said in a statement.
“Two of the robbers were wounded on their way to Woodlands, no shots have been fired in the centre.
"Affected areas within the mall have been cordoned off and police and paramedics are on the scene. All surrounding shops have been closed and the situation is under control. Once the police and paramedics have cleared the scene the surrounding stores will resume trading."
