SABC appoints acting COO
Updated | By Nokukhanya Mntambo
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) board on Tuesday appointed Craig Van Rooyen as acting Chief Operating Officer (COO).
This follows the dismissal of Chris Maroleng last week on allegations of misconduct.
Van Rooyen first joined the public broadcaster in 2018 as Group Executive for the technology division.
"Dr Van Rooyen holds a PhD in management of technology, as well as an MBA and senior management programme from the University of Stellenbosch amongst other qualifications."
Mthembu says there is no word on when the position would be filled permanently.
