SABC appoints new top executives

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has
appointed Madoda Mxakwe as the group’s new chief executive officer (CEO) and
Yolande Van Bilijon as chief financial officer (CFO).
Chairperson of the board Bongumusa Makhathini says the appointment of the CEO will come into effective as from the 1st of July and the CFO’s appointment is effective as of Monday, 25 June.
The two replace Nomsa Philiso and Thabile Dlamini, who have been acting in those positions for almost a year.
“Both of these executives come with wealth of experience. Madoda Mxakwe brings to the SABC a broad combination of great skills and expertise from Senior executives positions in business , communications and public affairs in both the private and public sector,” says Makhathini.
He says the appointments are proof of the SABC’s to hire the best in the business.
“The board believes that these two appointments will strengthen the organisation’s position as a credible and reliable public service content provider.”
The public broadcaster says it’s also in the process of finalising other executive appointments.
