SABC board to address employees
SABC employees in offices across the country will on Tuesday be addressed by the public broadcaster's board during a general staff meeting scheduled to take place at lunchtime.
The SABC has come under fire following the suspension of three senior journalists, as well as yesterday's immediate resignation of Acting Group CEO Jimi Matthews.
Media Union Bemawu's Hannes du Buisson, said there were allegations of more journalists facing possible suspensions, despite petitions and a public outcry for journalists to be re-instated.
"I just received information this morning where someone phone me and said there were rumours that more people will be suspended, but we have no further information at this point in time and we hope that it is not true," he said.
