Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
South African Municipal Workers' Union (Samwu) members from Rand West City Local Municipality will be heading back to work on Tuesday morning.
This after the union had a meeting with the municipality on Monday following threats over weekend to dismiss over 700 employees.
The municipality says the workers have been engaged in an unprotected strike for close to a month over salary-related issues. de
The union's regional secretary Kgosi Breedt says the union and the municipality were able to iron out most of the issues.

Breedt says the other issues will be addressed at the local working forum.
"So we have agreed basically on this one and we will be addressing issues at the local labour forum - that's a forum where both parties, employee and labour come together - to discuss the issues.
"I can confirm that tomorrow at 8:00 I will be in my office and be reporting to work tomorrow and there will be no fear that I am dismissed or I am suspended."
