SANParks axes sex pest CEO
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
South African National Parks (SANParks) has dismissed its CEO Fundisile Mketeni after he was found guilty on six charges, including sexual harassment.
Mketeni faced an internal disciplinary hearing in July 2021 after he allegedly assaulted a young woman for refusing his advances.
He was subsequently found guilty on various charges, including sexual harassment, assault, and the use of abusive language.
His contract has been terminated with immediate effect.
Notwithstanding the outcomes of the criminal proceedings against the CEO, the board decision was based on the CEO being found guilty of six of the seven charges levelled against the CEO based on his having breached the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Policy and the Disciplinary Policy and Procedure of SANParks,” the board said in a statement.
