Save SA: Zuma must go
The people's assembly held by the Save South Africa campaign in Pretoria has called for corruption to fall and integrity to rise.
Religious leaders, business executives, struggle stalwarts and ordinary members of society convened at the St. Alban's Cathedral in the capital yesterday and the venue was packed with supporters of finance minister, Pravin Gordhan.
Most called on President Jacob Zuma to resign.
The consensus coming from the people's assembly is that President Jacob Zuma needs to do the right thing and step down before causing any more damage to the country.
Convener Sipho Pityana urged Zuma to think deeply about recent events in the country.

"What was seen here today is the emergence of a force of people who no longer prepared to put up with your antics and leadership," Pityana said.
Struggle stalwarts, business and civil society say they can't be silent any longer and they won't allow the country to be captured. Gauteng ANC chair Paul Mashatile stated that they have always believed in Gordhan's innocence. He agreed with the assembly that the ANC needs to step up its game.
"I want to ensure you that South Africans want change. They want to be led by proper leaders who respect the constitution," Mashatile said.
