Second batch of Johnson and Johnson vaccines arrives in SA

The next consignment of Johnson and Johnson vaccines from Brussels have landed at the OR Tambo International Airport.
Like the first batch of inoculation, the second batch also has 80 000 of the Johnson and Johnson vaccines.
The single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine is highly effective in preventing severe Covid-19, including newer variants, according to the US Food and Drug Administration.

According to the South African Medical Association (SAMA)’s Dr Angelique Coetzee, the vaccine rollout is expected to start on Wednesday, or at the latest on Thursday.
More Covid-19 vaccines are expected to make their way to the country in the next couple of weeks
As of Friday, 63 648 health workers have already received their Covid-19 jabs, to help them in their fight against the deadly pandemic.
