Gauteng police are investigating a case of attempted murder following a shooting incident involving businessman Kenny Kunene.
Gauteng police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters confirmed the alleged incident occurred Tuesday evening in Norwood, Johannesburg.
"It appears as if Mr. Kunene was shot at while in the car and he managed to drive off and open a case at the police station," Peters said.
No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.
Listen to Peters:
Kunene accompanied Sunday Independent editor Steve Motale's to court on Saturday when Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa brought an urgent application to stop the newspaper from publishing a report about alleged extra-marital affairs.
In a tweet, Kunene thanked "God's grace and mercy" for surviving the shooting.

Speaking to JacarandaFM News, Kunene said he suspects the shooting may have something to do with his connection to Motale.
"I'm always with Motale and he's been getting death threats. I am not sure if they (the shooters) thought he was in the car with me."
