Sibanye-Stillwater wage offer a ‘slap in the face’ - Mathunjwa
Updated | By Neo Motloung
The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) has described the latest wage offer by Sibanye-Stillwater as an insult to workers.
Speaking at a media briefing in Johannesburg on Tuesday, President Joseph Mathunjwa said he believes the wage offer by the mine, which was recently acquired by Lonmin, is meant to provoke workers into downing tools.
The three-year offer ranges includes a R300 increase in the first year, R350 in the second and R400 in the third.

“Not surprisingly they were not prepared to look at any other improvement and benefits of employment,” said Mathunjwa.
