Six killed in fiery Eastern Cape head-on collision
The crash came as bitterly cold and wet weather gripped parts of the Eastern Cape.
At least six people have been killed in a head-on collision on the N2 near Mooiplaas in the Eastern Cape.
Provincial Transport officials say several people were trapped after a sedan caught fire following the collision outside KuGompo City on Tuesday morning.
Spokesperson Unathi Binqose says the crash comes as severe winter weather continues to batter parts of the province.
“And the [rainy] weather conditions are not making things any easier for them.
“We are urging road users, motorists in particular, to exercise a bit of caution when they are approaching that stretch. [The] details will be shared with you as soon as the picture gets clearer, but it is still very much an active scene at the moment.”
