Slight improvement in Limpopo dam levels

Dam levels in Limpopo have improved slightly following the recent rain that fell across the province.

According to the department of water and sanitation, dam levels improved from 45.6 % to 48.8 % since last week.
Spokesperson for the department, Sputnik Ratau, says the high temperatures and evaporation has kept the national average at 49.1% .
The Nandoni dam near Thohoyandou has improved from 47 % to 52 % this week while the Nsami dam, from where authorities stopped pumping water due to the low water levels, is now at 75 %.
The Albasin dam is at 54 % with the Middle Letaba dam - the largest in Limpopo - improving from 16% to 21 % this week.
