Some seeking mileage out of Phala Phala, says Ramaphosa
President Cyril Ramaphosa says he is ready to be fully accountable and take the nation into confidence regarding the Phala Phala saga.
"I stand ready to do so, to give an explanation but for me its been important that this matter has occurred that I should give space, stand back and allow the variances to deal with this matter as thoroughly as I believe they are doing.
"There are clearly individuals and organisations that seek mileage out of this issue and the most appropriate response from my side is for the law to take it's own course."
Ramaphosa says he is also ready to cooperate with the parliament's process of investigating the matter as well.
He was answering a series of questions in the National Assembly on Tuesday.

But opposition parties were not happy with Ramaphosa's reply, demanding a more detailed answer.
"Listening to the response by the president and looking at the question, sitting here, the president has adequately answered the question," said ATM's Vuyo Zungula.
"If it is a case number or an investigation, it does not give him the right not to respond to question today, so he must respond to the main question and follow up questions."
