South Africa to assist Mozambique, Malawi amid floods

South Africa is to respond to a request for assistance from Mozambique and Malawi in light of the recent deadly floods that have claimed hundreds of lives in those countries.
Government communication's Phumla Williams says a team is looking into what help is needed and can be provided by SA.
Mozambique has requested assistance with search and rescue operations, which will include aerial support.
Malawi has requested humanitarian assistance, including tents and medical assistance.
Heavy rains have hit South-Eastern Africa over the past week.
