South Africa drops a place on world Covid-19 ladder
South Africa has dropped to 6th place on the global list of most Covid-19 infections.
The list is available at worldometres.info.
With a national total of 627 041 Covid-19 cases, South Africa has been overtaken by Peru, where thre are 652 037 coronavirus infections.
As of Monday, the number of new infections in the country increased by 1 985.
A further 121 new Covid-19 deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 14 149.
The recovery rate continues to remain firmly at 86%.
