South Africa sends biggest team ever to Winter Olympics

South Africa has sent its largest team to the Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy, since 1960.
Team South Africa includes two teenagers, Thomas Weir (17) and Lara Marthaler (18), both of whom will compete in Alpine Skiing at the Winter Games which starts on Friday.
International Olympic Committee (IOC) member, Anant Singh commented: “It is very exciting to have five South Africans competing in the Winter Olympics. I wish them all the best and look forward to watching them on the slopes in the coming days.”
On Wednesday, the first-ever Olympic Winter Games Fashion Showcase was held in Milan as part of the programme.
Team South Africa showed off their performance wear and Opening Ceremony outfits.
