Stage 1 loadshedding to be implemented
Updated | By sibahle motha
National power utility Eskom announced on Thursday it would implement stage 1 loadshedding.
“Eskom will implement stage 1 loadshedding from 5pm today, which is likely to continue until 10pm this evening,” it said.
Reasons for implementation included the system being “constrained and under pressure” due to the cold weather and the resulting increase in electricity use.
“As the weather is quite cold at the moment, we would like to appeal to our customers to find alternative ways of keeping warm and using electricity sparingly throughout the day,” said Eskom.
South Africans were encouraged to use electricity responsibly and to stay updated with changes by making use of Eskom and municipal websites and call centres. -ANA
