Stage set for Tshwane mayoral position legal battle
Parties have seven days to submit arguments to the court.
The stage is set for the High Court to decide who the rightful mayor of Tshwane is.
The DA had gone to court to seek to overrule the process through which the ANC instituted a motion of no confidence in Stevens Mokgalapa, leading to the election of a new mayor for the Capital.
Judge Neil Tuchten ruled on Friday that the DA's application is indeed urgent.

John Moodey, DA provincial leader in Gauteng, has welcomed the latest developments, saying parties have seven days to submit arguments to the court.
"Stevens Mokgalapa remains the mayor of Tshwane," said Moodey, referring to the earlier interim order granted that the election of a new mayor is suspended pending the outcome of the legal proceedings.
Mokgalapa is, however, on leave until the end of December following a scandal involving a leaked sex tape.
