Stats SA: Women outlive males by some 6 years

The 2019 mid-year population estimates has revealed that South African women continue to outlive their male counterparts.
This is according to Stats SA, which briefed media in Tshwane on Monday morning.
The population estimates show that women live at least six years longer, with life expectancy in the country averaging 64.7 years.
Statistician General Risenga Maluleke explains:
The population estimates indicate that some 58.87 million people life in South Africa.
"Gauteng comprises the largest share of the South African population, with approximately 15.2 million people living in the province. KwaZulu-Natal is the province with the second largest population, with an estimated 11.3 million peopke living there," said Maluleke.
