Stellenbosch University building damaged in fire

The University of Stellenbosch is assessing the extent of damage to an administration building which was torched during protests on campus Thursday night.
The university said a fire was started in an office in the basement of Admin Building B.
A student's car was also set alight during the unrest, but security staff managed to extinguish the fire.

The university's Martin Viljoen said the office was destroyed.
Viljoen said the glass door to the building was also broken.
"There is no reason at the moment to call off classes or close the university, but the situation is being monitored," Viljoen said.
Charges of arson and damage to property has been laid by the university.
