Stellenbosch University to offer counselling to students after fire

Stellenbosch Municipality says the fire that damaged the Huis Ten Bosch residence for women at the Stellenbosch University campus was extinguished at 9pm on Monday night.
The residence is home to more than 164 female students.
The institution promised to find alternative accommodation for the female students and plans to also offer counselling.

One of the residents had to be treated for burn wounds.
Municipal spokesperson Stuart Grobbelaar says the cause of the fire is not known yet.
"Our firefighters arrived at the scene, assisted with evacuation of all students, contained the fire and limited the damage."
