Substation trip leaves parts of Tshwane in the dark
Updated | By Emile Pienaar
Residents of several suburbs in Tshwane have been without electricity since Thursday evening.
Tshwane says this is due to the Pumulani substation suffering a flash on a few of its 11kV panels, which caused a trip at the Pumulani, Watloo, and Pyramid substations.
This city's spokesperson, Lindela Mashigo, says the city's technicians isolated Watloo and Pyramid and switched them back on.
However, due to the damage caused by the flash, the Phumlani substation remains switched off.
At this stage, the estimated time of restoration is not known.
The following areas are still affected :
Doornpoort
Pumulani local , BP , DE and DW line
Zeekoegat
Montana
Breed Street
Hartbeesfontein
Kollonade
