Suspect killed in Midrand shootout
One suspect has been shot and killed following a shootout with the police in Midrand.
The shooting happened on Allandale Road on Friday.
Gauteng Highway Patrol members were responding to a lookout for a group of suspects who had committed a business robbery at Olivienhoutbosch.
Their vehicle was intercepted at corner Allandale Road and Waterfall Drive.
"The vehicle was spotted on Allendale and upon seeing the blue lights, they sped off resulting in a high-speed chase and a shootout, said police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi.
"One suspect was declared dead on the scene while the other two were arrested."
Police seized a firearm and undisclosed amount of cash.
The two suspects are expected to appear in court on Monday.
