Suspect nabbed for gunning down Ekurhuleni metro cop in Germiston

An Ekurhuleni metro police officer has been shot and killed in Germiston while investigating illegal mining in the area.
Metro police spokesperson Kelebogile Thipa says the victim was the commander of a tracing unit.

"A commander of a tracing unit has been fatally wounded following information which they were following on illegal mining in the Primrose area."
“One suspect has been apprehended still in possession of a firearm and an investigation is ensuing.”
