Suspected rapist burnt alive in Alex
A group of residents in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg, took the law into their own hands on Monday evening when an unknown man was stoned and burnt beyond recognition.
The man was accused of raping and robbing a number of women in the area.
Gauteng police’s Lungelo Dlamini says a case of murder is being investigated.
"Those who have got information about the suspects, those people who assaulted a man, we are also appealing them to contact Crime Stop."
Police are also appealing to relatives and friends of the man to help in identifying the man.
"We are appealing to anyone who knows his identity to come forward,” says Dlamini.
No arrests have been made.
