Eleven suspects have been arrested for allegedly planning an armed robbery at the OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA) in Ekurhuleni on Friday.
It is alleged that the accused planned to rob the airport’s International Airports Cargo section.
The DPCI's Tactical Operations Management Section (TOMS) with the assistance of Special Task Force, Ekurhuleni District Operational Task Team, K9 Law Enforcement and Bad Boy Security intercepted and stopped them in their tracks.
Police spokesperson Colonel Katlego Mogale says the eleven men were travelling in a 8-ton truck which entered the Swissport when they were intercepted by law enforcement.
