Taxi crash death toll rises
The death toll in yesterday's minibus taxi crash in Pietermaritzburg has risen to 20.
One of the victims has died in hospital.
Mkhambathini mayor, Eric Ngcongo says they received the news of the latest death while busy meeting with the victims' families in KwaXimba this afternoon.
Ngcongo says the affected families will get assistance.
"Officials will discuss how the families can be assisted with the funerals."
The brakes of the minibus apparently failed - causing it veer off the road and roll down an embankment in Msunduzi Valley.
Transport officials say the vehicle was overloaded.
