Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
A 17-year-old girl will appear in the Springs Magistrates Court alongside a 42 year-old Nigerian man in connection with human trafficking.

The man was arrested on Friday, after police received a tip off that he was holding girls between the ages of 14 and 19 captive in a house in the Springs CBD.
Police spokesperson Captain Thivhulawi Tshilate says the teen was arrested on Saturday.
“Further investigations revealed that the 17 year-old girl is involved in recruiting and luring these young girls to the house of this man. She was arrested Saturday and will appear in court Monday morning,” says Tshilate.
The five rescued teens were taken to the nearest hospital for medical examinations and have since taken to a place of safety.

Tshilate says because the arrested girl is a minor, she has also been taken to a place of safety ahead of her court appearance.
