Tembisa taxi owner shot, killed
A 53 year old taxi owner was shot and killed in Tembisa, Esangweni section on Thursday.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Katlego Mogale says the victim had allegedly just parked his taxi when he was shot.
“It is alleged he had just parked his vehicle when an unknown number of suspects approached him and started shooting at him,” she says.
Police noticed the incident while patrolling the area and on intervening a shootout ensued.
A police officer was shot and injured in the leg and has been taken to hospital.
The suspects managed to flee and a case of murder has been opened for investigation.
