There is enough land for everyone: Buchan
Updated | By Nokukhanya N Mntambo
Evangelist and author, Angus Buchan says the land debate must be settled, and soon.
This comes as South Africa’s land debate remains unresolved.
Last week Justice Minister, Ronald Lamola revealed that the Legal Aid Board had been roped in to play a more prominent role in the country’s efforts to change its patterns of land ownership.
But Buchan says there is plenty of land to go around.
“I’ve seen in times of drought, maize crops grow. I have seen in times of floods still food is produced. This continent, I believe, is the breadbasket of the world – it has never been properly utilised,” says Buchan.

Mogoeng hosted an Africa Day prayer session on Monday to celebrate and acknowledge the successes of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU). The day marks 57 years since the leaders of 32 independent African nations met in Addis Ababa to establish the OAU, the precursor to the African Union.
He was speaking during a prayer session hosted by Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng to celebrate and acknowledge the successes of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU).
“We need to appreciate it as (the) Chief Justice said. No more fighting, no more discrimination. There is enough room, there is enough land, there is enough food for everyone. The only thing that stops that is greed,” said Buchan.
He adds the continent’s resources are yet to be unearthed.
“We have the finest cattle; we have the finest crops,” Buchan says.
“This is Africa’s finest hour.”
