The couple appeared in court on Wednesday as their bail application continued.

They face 43 charges, including fraud, theft and money laundering.

The State alleges that the couple stole money from various estates amounting to over R6 million to maintain their lavish lifestyle.

Their supplementary affidavits were read into the record by their attorney, Advocate Hlawu Mauleleke.

In his submission, Nonyane told the court that he earns additional income from booking artists for events.

He said about R80 000 was paid into his account weekly, with him keeping the balance after paying artists.

Nonyane estimates he earns around R100 000 a month from these activities, depending on bookings and artists’ fees.

He also told the court that he co-hosts an annual birthday celebration with a company from which he claims to have made around R700 000 at his latest event.

He also provided the court with supporting documents and contracts of his side job.

“I also generate income from a music album titled 'Betway', which is available on various streaming platforms. This income is variable and cannot be precisely quantified.

"This income enables me to meet my financial obligations, including the repayment of a motor vehicle financed through Toyota Finance, being a Mercedes-Benz V300, and to support my children and family,” his affidavit read.

Nonyane and his wife said they both deny having committed the alleged offences and that they intend not to plead guilty.

Their matter was postponed to Thursday for continuation.
