A two-year-old boy has been abandoned at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town, police said on Wednesday.
The Bellville Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit has urged anyone with information on the whereabouts of the child’s family or guardian to come forward.
Police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said a woman dropped off the child with security guards at the hospital on Saturday, May 7.
Rwexana said the unidentified woman told the security guards that she found the boy in the parking area.
The child is seemingly unable to speak any South African language.
“We appeal to the community or anyone with information that can assist in locating the parents of the boy to contact investigating officer detective warrant officer Petersen on 021-592 7092”.
