The accused include former correctional services commissioner Linda Mti, his former colleague Patrick Gillingham and former Bosasa CFO Andries van Tonder.

They appeared in the specialised commercial crimes court on Wednesday facing charges of fraud, corruption and, money laundering.

The matter relates to four fraudulent tenders, worth some R1.8 billion, awarded to Bosasa by the Department of Correctional Services between 2004 and 2007.

The Special Investigating Unit recommended that they be prosecuted over 11 years ago, but Agrizzi testified at the state capture inquiry that late Bosasa CEO Gavin Watson allegedly bribed National Prosecuting Authority officials.

Mti was expected to appear before the commission on Tuesday but his lawyer argued he was given late notice to testify.

The R20 000 bail granted to each in 2019 has been extended to October.
