TRT buses back on Mamelodi route
Updated | By Neo Motloung
The City of Tshwane has confirmed that its Tshwane Rapid Transit (TRT) bus service has been reinstated on the Mamelodi route in the east of the Metro on Tuesday morning.
This comes after threats of violence alleged from commuters in the area.
Residents have been complaining over a shortage of these buses and overloading.
The City of Tshwane's spokesperson Lindela Mashigo, says the city and the TRT bus services added three buses on the route.
"This follows yesterday's stoppage, whereby there were threats of vandalism of burning the buses," says Mashigo.
He adds Metro Police in Tshwane are escorting the buses to ensure the safety of bus drivers and commuters.
