The case was postponed on Thursday to allow the state to obtain DNA results, cellphone records, a chain of evidence and possible witnesses.

Muzikayise Malephane stands accused of the gruesome murder after Pule’s body was discovered hanging from a tree in Durban Deep, west of Johannesburg.

The 27-year old was heavily pregnant at the time.

Family spokesperson Tumisang Katake believes the accused might not have acted alone.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if they make other arrests,” Katake told media outside court.

“I don’t think it was just guy that murdered Tshegofatso but if it was then it’s fine.”

Marabastad shooting leaves 2 taxi drivers dead

Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says the shooting took place in the early morning. "It's alleged that four taxi drivers were sitting inside a car when they were attacked and shot at by an unknown number of suspects. Two of the victims were certified dead on the scene and the other two have been taken to hospital for treatment."

Following the postponement, Katake said he was happy the law was taking its course.

“I think they are expediting the process of investigations and there’s nothing that I can fault that the police have done so far.”

He also pleaded with the public to be patient while the legal processes unfold.

“It brings mixed emotions. It is sad, but we just want to know what happened to Tshegofatso and why they did what they did. Honestly, seeing him here just reminds us of the ordeal that we went through.

“There’s a time and place for everything. If we have to protest inside the court, then we are doing an injustice for us but protests you can do them outside.

“We have to allow for the court processes to unfold in court.”
