Tshwane extends operating hours at licensing centres
Updated | By Emile Pienaar
The City of Tshwane will extend the operating hours at licensing centres to address the backlogs and long wait times experienced during the December holiday period.
City spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said demand for licensing services increased during the festive season, particularly for motor vehicle licence renewals, driver’s licence renewals, roadworthy testing and temporary licence applications.
This led to delays at centres across the city.
"In response, the city has implemented extended operating hours as a targeted intervention to improve service delivery and clear outstanding backlogs," said Mashigo.
He said a decision was made to extend operating hours between 8:00 and 18:00 between January 5 and 9.
