Tshwane: No chaos at licensing centers
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile
The City of Tshwane has rubbished claims that licensing centers are in chaos, this despite a stream of complaints from the public.
Tshwane Metro Police spokesperson Isaac Mahamba says they do however acknowledge that people are flocking to the licensing centers to renew their licenses.
“Most people got their licenses in 2010 and are coming for renewal and that is why they are flocking to the licensing centers this month,” Mahamba says.
The public raised concern about snail-paced operations, with some complaining about having to come back for three consecutive days to book appointments without being assisted.
Some customers say the delays are as a result of all customers having to queue in one line for a number of different services as well as driving permits only being issued at the Watloo Service Delivery Centre.
License renewals can be done at any licensing center in the country, Mahamba stresses.
