Tshwane reservoirs ‘starting to stabilise’
Updated | By Martine van der Walt Ehlers
Water levels at reservoirs in Tshwane that were affected by recent power outages are steadily improving.
Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya said on Sunday that while the system remains under strain, overnight progress has been made, with four of the eight previously empty reservoirs now above 20% capacity.
These four reservoirs are The Reeds, Soshanguve L NW, Soshanguve SE, and Mabopane Main.
"Efforts will continue throughout the day to enhance flow rates and support the recovery of the remaining reservoirs," says mayoral spokesperson Zintle Mahlati.
"We will be closely monitoring reservoir levels and in the meantime, we urge residents who currently have water supply to use it sparingly to help maintain system stability and support the full replenishment of reservoirs.
"For communities still without water, the city will continue deploying water tankers to provide relief."
