The 11th G20 Parliamentary Speakers Summit, known as P20, concluded with Speaker of the National Assembly Thoko Didiza emphasizing its importance in advancing a more inclusive and sustainable global future.
The summit brought together leaders from G20 nations to discuss pressing global challenges, including climate change and economic inequality.
"The adoption of the Joint Declaration is an important step symbolizing a shared commitment to tackle the contemporary world challenges," Didiza said.
She said parliaments must now turn commitments into actions through legislation, oversight, and budgetary control..
Didiza further applauded the P20 platform on how it has shown the power of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering trust and building consensus and pleaded that the summit's momentum be sustained.
