Two to appear in court for drug trafficking
Two men were expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on charges of drug trafficking.
Gauteng police spokesman Vish Naidoo said the men were arrested after arriving at OR Tambo International Airport from Sao Paolo, Brazil.
”The two had apparently swallowed drugs, the value of which could not yet be established. The men were travelling on Angolan and DRC issued passports.”
On Tuesday, Emmanuel Akunehuezi Obiwuru appeared in the same court for allegedly trying to smuggle crystal meth worth an estimated R1 million into South Africa.
”Obiwuru was traveling on a Nigerian issued passport. At the time of his arrest he had just disembarked from a flight that was coming from Lagos, Nigeria. The drugs were found wrapped around his body,” said Naidoo.
”The accused has been remanded in custody for further investigation.” -ANA
