Two toddlers killed in Boksburg shack fire
Gauteng police are investigating the death of two toddlers who were killed in a shack fire at Windmill Park in Boksburg.
The 15-month-old twins were burnt to death on Thursday night.
Ekurhuleni emergency services spokesperson William Ntladi says both the victims died at the scene.
“On arrival firefighters found the backyard shack in flames, neighbours trying to extinguish the blaze with water buckets. Unfortunately, the charred bodies of the babies were identified within the remains of a shack.”
Ntladi says the cause of the fire is suspected to be candlelight that was left unattended by the mother during a power outage in the area.
