Limpopo police are searching for an unknown number of people after two vehicles were swept away by floods in the Sekhukhune area.
The two vehicles were attempting to cross a bridge near Thorncliff mine when they were swept away.
The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon.
Limpopo Transport and Community Safety spokesperson Mike Maringa says the vehicles were recovered at the riverbank, but the occupants are still missing.
“Motorists are advised not to attempt crossing low lying bridges and flooded roads following a warning of flash floods by the weather services.”
The search for the occupants of the two vehicles will start on Wednesday.
