Two suspected illegal miners arrested at Mpumalanga hospital

Two suspected illegal miners remain under police guard in hospital following their arrest by Mpumalanga police on Friday.
The two Lesotho nationals are believed to have been shot at an illegal mining site and were arrested while receiving treatment in a hospital.
"Police attached to Mpumalanga Operation Vala Umgodi immediately instituted an investigation, which led them to Rob Ferreira hospital where the two were arrested," the police said.
"Currently, the two suspects are under police guard after their arrest for the Contravention of Immigration Act of South Africa. Further investigation is carried out to ascertain circumstances surrounding their involvement in the shooting.”
