UDM threatens to leave NMB coalition
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The United Democratic Movement (UDM) has given the Democratic Alliance (DA) until Monday to reinstate Nelson Mandela Bay deputy mayor Mongameli Bobani.
The DA passed a vote of no confidence in Bobani in the Nelson Mandela Bay legislature yesterday.
UDM leader Bantu Holomisa says the party wrote a letter to the DA demanding Bobani's reinstatement.
Holomisa says they are unhappy with the manner in which Bobani was removed as deputy mayor.
"For the DA to use their newly-wedded partner, Patriotic Alliance, to push the UDM out of the coalition.
"We strongly feel that the DA has violated the coalition agreement," Holomisa says.
