[VIDEO] Violent protest hits Mogale City

Residents have barricaded roads with burning tyres and rocks against what they claim to be an increase in crime, as well as the presence of drug lords and human trafficking.

Scores of Kagiso residents took to the streets - claiming police are turning a blind eye to crime in the community.
Police vehicles have been damaged, houses torched and a police station set alight.

A flyer calling for a "Mogale City Monday shutdown" was distributed on Sunday and urged residents to "unite and reclaim our city from crime, drugs and human trafficking".
Police also fired rubber bullets and stun grenades at a crowd of people who threatened to march into town.
Foreign National stores have been looted and some are seen removing stock from the premises.

"Police are protecting them, more than the South Africans," one of the protesting residents told the media.
#Kagiso Community in the area says they are fed up with Nigerians peddling drugs and prostitution. They allege a woman was abducted in the area by Nigerians.
