Lesufi’s visited follows a fight between pupils on Friday, which was apparently racially motivated.

Parents protested outside the school on Monday, saying there is a group of white pupils at the school who are terrorising black kids.

One parent told Jacaranda FM News the situation has been ongoing for the past four years.

“The children have been complaining about racism remarks by white children, they literally admit that they are racist, it has been happening for four years now. It's like a time bomb that was waiting to explode and it exploded on Friday,” she said.

Parents say they are tired of seeing the children continuously experiencing racism at the school.

“We are tired, enough is enough, enough with racism,it must fall, it must get down, we are done, we have heard enough,” said one parent.

One pupil says it is unfair to expect children to bear the brunt of racist behaviour.

“We can’t do this anymore, we can’t fight for the same thing that our parents fought for, we are tired,” she said.

Inside the school, black and coloured kids are began protesting.

Private security is monitoring the situation.

Outside the school, there are disagreements about where the different groups should stand, as everyone wants to be near the school gate.

Some pupils carried placards inside the school, with one reading ‘Panyaza you know the pain’.

One angry parent, Tshepo Tema, said his son is in grade 12, and was beaten by three boys at this school. He claims his son was thrown out of a window and refused medical attention.

“He was bullied by three white boys and they threw him throw the window and no one attended to him,” says Tema.

Some pupils from Hoërskool Westonaria High School also joined the protest in support.
