[WATCH] 'Drunk' police officer released on R500 bail

A police constable from North West who is believed to have been driving a state car under the influence of alcohol has been granted R500 bail.
A video, which has since gone viral, shows the police officer struggling to get out of a police vehicle after he crashed into a fence on Saturday.
North West police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabane says the officer was granted bail on Sunday and will appear in court on Monday.
“We are also taking departmental steps against the member in terms of SAPS regulations. He is not yet placed on suspension but departmental investigations have already started.”

The man has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
He will appear in the Wolmanransstad Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
