WATCH: Firefighters battle blaze at iconic Durban mosque
A fire broke out at the Juma Masjid Mosque in central Durban on Monday afternoon.
Paramedic Garrith Jamieson says several people have been treated for smoke inhalation.
Reports from the scene indicate that the fire had been contained.

“Paramedics, police and the fire department are in attendance. The road has been closed and traffic has severely been affected. I would encourage all motorists to avoid the area at all costs,” Jamieson says.
Videos of the blaze on social media show massive plumes of black smoke.
