WATCH: Illegal firearms destroyed
The South African Police services on Thursday destroyed 14 382 firearms from nine provinces.
National Police Comissioner Riah Phiyega and other SAPS officials attended the event at Arcelor Mittal Steel Factory in Vereeniging.
Some of the firearms are illegal firearms, others are old police rifles that are not functioning properly.
